Home and Away couple Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) and Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo) are set to be the next characters to make it down the aisle. Cash recently popped the question and it’s something Eden has thought about in the past.

In 2023, she played a joke on Cash and pretended they had a drunken engagement by slipping on the engagement ring he had purchased for his ex Jasmine Delaney (Sam Frost). Now, it seems there are a few rumours flying around about their upcoming engagement and whether it’s something Eden still wants.

However, one fan shared a theory on a popular Facebook group, saying that while Eden and Cash do get engaged, the engagement gets “called off”. The pair were seen filming what appears to be an engagement celebration on the beach back in May, so it’s likely the engagement does stick… at least for a while.

Some viewers weren’t pleased by the rumour that the wedding doesn’t end up happening, with many lamenting the lack of happy endings in Summer Bay.

“Can we just have a wedding go smoothly just once? It would be nice for someone to say yes and be happy and have a drama-free wedding,” one person replied.

“They won’t get married… nothing goes that smoothly,” another added.

“She chased him from the start. Now she is hesitating,” a third pointed out.

“Would be nice to see another wedding but they will have to add drama to it. Maybe runaway bride Eden,” another remarked.

Do Cash and Eden get married on Home and Away?

Back in May, some eagle-eyed fans also spotted the actors filming a scene where they appeared to be fighting. Seeing as there has already been a big-budget wedding this year with Leah Patterson (Ada Nicodemou) and Justin Morgan (James Stewart), it’s possible the show’s producers didn’t want to cough up the budget for a second wedding.

In the scene that Cash and Eden were filming, the pair seemed to be uncomfortable around each other.

“The second [Cash and Eden] saw each other they both just stopped and stared like they were broken up or fighting and didn’t know whether to speak to each other or not,” the fan said.

“I wonder what’s happening here, I think Cash and Eden broke up,” another theorised.

Stephanie Panozzo reveals why Eden is having second thoughts

Fans have been wondering why Eden hasn’t said yes to Cash’s proposal yet, and it appears the character is guarding her heart.

“Cash really is the love of her life, but if Eden says no, she could lose him,” Stephanie told TV WEEK. “But if she says yes, she could end up like her parents: divorced, broken-hearted and with a broken family. That scares her.”

“She thinks Cash isn’t thinking straight and is making a rash decision because of everything going on with [his sister] Felicity,” she added. “Eden is really questioning his motives.”

To be honest, Eden would do well to steer clear from a Summer Bay wedding because they often end in disaster and death.
