Mandy is already making headlines this week as she prepares to tie the knot with her fiancé, Paddy, in a special hour-long episode airing on August 15. However, there’s a cloud of uncertainty hanging over their wedding plans, as it’s unclear whether Paddy will still want to marry Mandy once he discovers her secret side job as a financial dominatrix.
During the photo shoot, Lisa hinted at the dramatic developments ahead, noting, “The creativity involved in the wedding storyline is truly unbelievable. We’ve had extensive discussions with Laura Shaw, the producer, about the script, and while I can’t reveal too much, Mandy certainly has her sights set on a fairy-tale wedding and a happily-ever-after. Looking further into the future, Lisa also hinted at a significant twist related to Mandy following Zack Dingle’s upcoming funeral storyline. The village will soon learn of Zack’s passing, a storyline written as a tribute to the late Steve Halliwell, who portrayed Zack since 1994 and passed away last December. Lisa revealed, “Things are going to get incredibly busy. We’re dedicating a heartfelt tribute to Steve Halliwell that will carry us through to Christmas. Following this, Mandy’s storyline will unveil a major bombshell that’s going to leave viewers stunned. That’s all I can say for now, but it’s going to be a real shocker!”
Lisa, who is nominated for Best Comic Performance at the Inside Soap Awards, expressed her excitement about the recognition and praised the show’s writing and cast. She shared, “It’s such an honor to be nominated, especially with awards voted on by the public. The writing for Mandy is phenomenal, and working with Dominic Brunt, who plays Paddy, creates an unbreakable bond. While comedy is a big part of the show, there are definitely some dramatic moments on the horizon for Mandy.”
