Dana is off duty when she comes to the hospital and searches for Bronte’s records. Bree catches her red-handed. Dana explains there’s no record of Bronte’s apparent contamination, and she asks her friend to conduct a wider search of all the hospitals in the state.

Despite her reservations, Bree obliges and can’t find medical records anywhere. Again, Dana confronts Bronte, who issues a cold threat by asking whether Dana’s big mouth has got her into trouble before.

John queries Irene and Leah’s decision to make such large donations to the cause, which is news to Alf when he overhears. Bronte feigns gratitude when she tells Xander the crowdfunder is almost at seventy grand.

When Alf quizzes her in the surf club, she nearly reveals her true nature when she flares under questioning, and later she calls her co-conspirator again – declaring that they need to shut Dana up.

At home, Dana is alone when Bronte arrives with “old friend” Chase, who she quickly ascertains is her accomplice. Bronte brags that they’ve done this twice before. She adds that she has never met anyone as annoying as Dana, though.

With that, Chase throws Dana’s phone to Bronte, and covers her mouth as Bronte takes out a roll of duct tape. No-one can hear Dana scream as she realises she’s being kidnapped.

Meanwhile, Cash’s phone call to police HQ has sped up the process, and Eden reports to Remi that he’ll know by that night whether he’s back on the force. A call from Rose reveals there are no vacancies at Reefton Lakes. Finally, though, he tells Eden the police want him back – he’s been offered his old rank, but at Mangrove River, the worst police station in the state.
