Bronte has ruthless plans.

Episode 8273

Irene is back home and she has brought a houseguest with her – Bronte, who she met at the hospital in the city. Bronte recounts to Harper how Irene took pity on her. Irene later explains that Bronte is gravely ill with an autoimmune condition. She takes her new friend to the Diner and offers her whatever she wants on the house, but Bronte has a turn and doesn’t feel like eating.

When Bronte steps outside for some fresh air, she gets on the phone to an unknown contact and gloats that Irene is a total pushover. At the community barbecue, Harper tells Bronte what a generous community they live in, and dollar signs appear in Bronte’s eyes.

At the same time, Marilyn panics as she over-ordered from the Diner’s suppliers when the film crew was in town. Now that they’re gone, she only has a few days to move the stuff or the Diner will take a serious hit. Justin suggests a community barbecue at the beach. Marilyn thinks it’s a great idea, but makes him promise that Irene won’t find out.

Soon Irene has found the invoice and wonders where the stock is, and Marilyn confesses the truth. Irene is understanding, noting that the last week has taught her not to sweat the small stuff, just as Bronte enters and announces that her results are back.

Bronte announces that there’s nothing they can do and she’s going to die. An ever-caring Irene opens her home up to Bronte for as long as she needs, promising that she’s not alone.

Meanwhile, it’s strained when Bree and Remi cross for the first time since agreeing to give each other space. Remi admits he saw Bree’s kiss with Nelson. Bree explains that it was a goodbye and that Nelson invited him to Naples with him, but she couldn’t go. She explains that she wants to be with Remi.

Remi is confused by Bree’s mixed messages and hastily retreats, but when he vents to Theo, he’s told it’s pretty simple – Bree is the woman he loves. When they do come back together, Remi tells Bree that she’s always been the one for him but he needs time. A lot has happened since they were together, and he has to process that.
