### MINUTES AGO! Very Sad News! General Hospital’s Nina Drops Breaking News! It Will Shock You!
Welcome to our latest General Hospital update! We have some very sad news about Cynthia Watros and her role as Nina Reeves. Before we dive in, please subscribe to our YouTube channel for the latest updates and spoilers.
Cynthia Watros, who took over the role of Nina Reeves on General Hospital in 2019, is reflecting on her past and future with the show. She replaced Michelle Stafford, who returned to *The Young and the Restless* as Phyllis Summers. ABC needed a strong replacement, and they found it in Watros, a Daytime Emmy winner for her role as Annie Dutton on *Guiding Light*.
Watros didn’t step into the role alone. Stafford reached out to her, offering support and advice about playing Nina. Watros recalled, “She actually reached out to me and said, ‘If you ever want to call or text…’ and I said, ‘Let’s have lunch.’ So we found an afternoon and spent like three hours just talking about the character and the show and everything in between. I was just in awe of her generosity.”
Since her debut on June 17, 2019, Watros has made Nina her own, infusing the character with a sense of urgency that explains even her most questionable decisions. Let’s face it, who among us thinks clearly in a crisis? Watros has also built strong chemistry with several leading men, even swaying some fans of the super couple Sonny and Carly Corinthos to root for Nina and Sonny.
Fans will remember how lovely Nina and Sonny’s wedding was. Watros doesn’t just receive fan mail; she gets fan art, too! As for what’s next for Nina, it almost doesn’t matter as long as it’s interesting and allows Watros to showcase her range. “I’m an actor who likes to use all of the tools,” she said. “I like it all—the funny, the not-so-funny, the playful, and the crazy.”
As we continue to follow Nina’s journey, Watros promises to take us on an exciting ride, no matter what twists and turns the story takes. Stay tuned to see how Nina’s story unfolds.
